About Victoria
Having
grown up with a mother who taught childbirth to thousands of women, I have
always believed that birth is a natural, normal and very precious thing.
This seems like a simple statement but, in an age where over 20% of women
arehaving caesarean sections, this is not true of everyone.
I have, over the years, worked in publishing, TV, property search and development.
I have taught horse-riding and brought up my three children. Like most
people, I have nurtured my friends along the way and also watched as
they approached pregnancy and birth in their own ways. I always felt
blessed
that I was excited about being pregnant, didn't worry that my babies
might not be whole and happy and didn't fear the birth itself. I ALWAYS
believed
in my body's own power and ability to grow a healthy baby and give
birth naturally as women have done for generations.
I had no idea that
is was this deeply embedded belief in my womanly body's ability that
would lead me to three very different but each
amazingly special births. When HypnoBirthing came along and my mother,
who had been teaching childbirth for about 30 years by then, started telling
me that this was it, the piece of the jigsaw puzzle that had been missing,
the piece that made women feel empowered by their births wherever their
journeys
took them. So I trained and found that HypnoBirthing fitted easily and
sensibly into my already established sense of the way birth should be viewed.
I currently teach in Leamington and Banbury.
